Tile Calculation
Note: This calculation is an estimate. Actual tile requirements may vary based on layout patterns, cuts, and installation method. Always purchase 5-10% extra tiles for replacements and future repairs.
How to Use the Tile Estimator
1. Measure Your Room
Measure the length and width of your room in inches. For irregular shapes, break it into rectangles and calculate each separately, then add them together.
2. Enter Tile Dimensions
Enter the length and width of your tiles in inches. Common sizes include 12"x12", 18"x18", 24"x24", or rectangular tiles like 12"x24".
3. Set Grout Width
Enter the width of your grout lines or spacers. Common sizes are 1/8" (0.125"), 1/4" (0.25"), or 3/8" (0.375"). This affects the effective tile coverage area.
4. Adjust Wastage
Set the wastage percentage based on your layout complexity. Simple rectangular layouts need 5-10%, while complex patterns, diagonal layouts, or rooms with many cuts may need 15-20%.
