Stone Weight Estimator
Find the weight of your granite, marble, quartz, or other stone slabs quickly and easily. Enter dimensions and select stone type to get accurate weight estimates.
Enter Stone Dimensions
Common thicknesses: 2" (countertops), 3" (slabs), 1.25" (tiles)
Density: 170 lbs/cu ft (2720 kg/m³)
Weight Calculation
Note: This calculation is based on standard density values for each stone type. Actual weight may vary slightly based on specific stone variety, porosity, and composition. Always verify weight for critical applications like shipping and structural support.
How to Use the Stone Weight Estimator
1. Select Measurement Unit
Choose between inches or feet for your measurements. Use inches for smaller pieces like countertops, and feet for larger slabs or blocks.
2. Enter Dimensions
Enter the length, width, and thickness of your stone piece. For countertops, typical thickness is 2-3 inches. For slabs, thickness can range from 1.25" to 10" or more.
3. Select Stone Type
Choose the type of stone from the dropdown. Each stone type has a different density, which affects the weight calculation. Granite and slate are typically heavier, while sandstone is lighter.
4. View Results
The calculator displays weight in multiple units: pounds, kilograms, US tons, and metric tons. Use this information for shipping estimates, structural planning, and logistics.
